Richter VR61 Compact Lounge Chair
Design Vjenceslav Richter
Manufactured by Prostoria
The VR61 Compact Lounge Chair is a refined expression of mid-century modern design, combining sculptural geometry, architectural precision, and contemporary comfort. Inspired by the visionary work of Croatian architect and designer Vjenceslav Richter, this distinctive modern lounge chair reimagines a design concept originally developed in 1961 for today’s residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors.
Defined by its elegantly curved plywood shell and signature central pedestal base, the VR61 creates a striking visual statement while maintaining a light, minimalist appearance. Its carefully considered seating angle and compact proportions offer an inviting place to relax without occupying the space of a traditional lounge chair.
Available with or without an upholstered cushion, the VR61 Compact Lounge Chair adapts effortlessly to a variety of design environments. The exposed plywood version emphasizes its clean architectural lines, while the cushioned option introduces an additional layer of softness and comfort.
Perfect for boutique hotel rooms, sophisticated reception areas, executive offices, modern living spaces, and contemporary hospitality interiors, the VR61 blends timeless modernist character with versatile functionality. Its distinctive silhouette makes it equally compelling as a standalone accent chair or arranged in coordinated seating groups.
